Plus size models now-a-days has become a fashion statement as evident from the number of fashion shows featuring plus size models only. These models with plus size clothing and attires set the catwalk on fire. Hottest designs featuring trousers, high waist long skirts, low cut tops, and the latest in corset tops are displayed by leading plus size models from all corners of the globe. Nancy Le Winter haws aptly remarked in the Mail ‘I can wear that’ referring to trendy clothing worn by reed thin models.

On the one hand, women with realistic bodies, wearing high-fashion in a manner that makes it relevant to "normal" Americans is clearly a step towards diversifying the fashion industry. On the other hand, some have made the point that by promoting plus size models, obesity is essentially being condoned as acceptable.
